Best Bakery POS System in Singapore (2026): Compared

We compared seven POS systems for Singapore bakeries, cake shops and bakery cafés, using only what each vendor publishes, grouped by the kind of bakery they suit.

Key takeaways

  • Disclosure: ChaChaCha is a POS vendor that serves bakeries. We compared six other options using only what each vendor publishes on its own website as of September 2026.
  • Bakeries need three things most restaurants do not: very fast counter checkout for tray-picked items, pre-orders and deposits for cakes, and day-end stock control for items that cannot be sold tomorrow.
  • Recipe-level inventory is what ties production to sales. Ask each vendor to set up one of your recipes, sell it and show the ingredient deduction.
  • Published prices range from S$5 a day for an all-in plan to quote-only ERP systems. Several vendors, including us, quote per setup.

How we compared (and who wrote this)

This guide compares each bakery POS system Singapore bakeries, cake shops and bakery cafés commonly shortlist. ChaChaCha is a point-of-sale system for Singapore businesses, powered by AppsPOS Pte. Ltd., a Singapore POS company operating since 2013. We sell a POS for bakeries, so we compete with every vendor on this page. Please read our view with that in mind.

Our rules for this comparison:

  • Vendor websites only. Every feature and price we state for another vendor comes from that vendor’s own site, linked where we use it. Where we could not find something, the table says “not stated on their website”. That does not mean the feature is missing, only that we could not confirm it.
  • No scores or ranking. We have not run every POS through a Chinese New Year rush, so we group options by the kind of bakery they appear to suit.
  • Dated and checkable. Everything was checked in September 2026. Plans change, so confirm with each vendor before you sign.

How we picked the options: F&B and food-retail POS vendors serving Singapore that publish pages relevant to bakeries (Qashier, EPOS, Eats365, Dinlr and MEGAPOS), plus one ERP vendor with a central kitchen module (HashMicro). We tried to include StoreHub, but its Singapore page did not load when we checked, so we left it out. Leaving a vendor out is not a judgement on it.

What bakeries need from a POS

A POS system for bakery counters has to cope with trays of mixed items at speed, cake pre-orders with deposits, and unsold stock at closing time. These are the jobs to test.

Fast counter checkout for trays

At a busy bakery, customers pick six or seven items onto a tray and the cashier has seconds to ring them up. Large, well-organised buttons with photos, quick quantity entry and a clear split between bread, pastries and cakes matter more than any report. A customer-facing display helps customers check what they are paying for.

Barcodes and weighing

Packaged items such as cookies, loaves and gift boxes are faster to scan than to find on a screen. Some bakeries also sell by weight, like nuts, granola or cut cakes. Check whether the POS supports a barcode scanner, a barcode label printer and a weighing scale, and which models.

Pre-orders and deposits for cakes

Birthday and custom cakes are ordered days ahead, often with a deposit, a message on the cake and a collection time. A good system takes the order online or at the counter, records the deposit and the balance, and prints or displays the job for the kitchen on the right day. Mooncake, Chinese New Year and Christmas pre-orders multiply this many times over.

Production planning

You need to decide each night how many of each item to bake. Sales history by item and by day part is the minimum. Larger bakeries want production plans generated from forecast demand and outlet orders.

Recipe inventory and day-end wastage

Recipe-level inventory deducts flour, butter and eggs each time an item sells, so you can see theoretical usage and cost per item. At day end, unsold items need to be logged as waste, sold at a discount or moved to a next-day line. Without that record, your food cost figures will be wrong. Our food waste guide and food cost guide go into the numbers.

Multi-outlet and central kitchen transfers

Chains often bake centrally and deliver to outlets. That means orders from outlets to the central kitchen, transfers of finished goods, and stock at each outlet that matches what was delivered.

Festive order volume

Festive periods bring hundreds of pre-orders with fixed collection slots. Ask how the system caps orders per slot, handles collection-day queues and reports what still needs to be baked. Our festive season guide covers the planning side.

Bakery POS options in detail

ChaChaCha (powered by AppsPOS)

ChaChaCha is F&B-first. Each sale deducts ingredients by recipe, and recipe costing shows the cost and margin of every item, which is the core of day-end stock control for a bakery. Cake and festive pre-orders can come through QR pre-order (order, pay, collect) or the online ordering page, and a retail kiosk mode lets customers check out packaged goods themselves. Ask us to confirm the rest of your checklist, including weighing scales, barcode labels, deposits, production planning, wastage logging and central kitchen transfers, and get the answers in writing. See our bakery POS page and “Where ChaChaCha fits” below.

Qashier

Qashier sells its whole platform for one daily fee. Its F&B page has a section for cafés and bakeries focused on recognising regulars, and features bakery merchants in its stories. The online ordering page says customers can place pre-orders for a later time or date, with 0% commission and a published gateway fee of 2.75% + $0.20 per online-paid order. The QashierPOS page describes offline selling, one catalogue and price book managed from HQ, stock synced across outlets and channels, and, for retail setups, barcode checkout with weighing. The pricing page lists $5 a day excluding GST, with terminals from $0.80 a day more and up to three devices per store. We did not find recipe-level inventory described on the pages we checked, so ask Qashier to show it with your recipes.

EPOS

EPOS lists Tai Cheong Bakery among its F&B clients. Its F&B POS page describes a central kitchen system for managing orders from multiple outlets, ingredient inventory designed for items with a limited shelf life, and data-driven reordering. Hardware packages include a handheld laser barcode scanner, with a barcode labelling device in some packages. The features page lists automatic stock updates with every sale, “including ingredient-level deductions”. The EPOS360 pricing page shows the Grow plan from SGD50, with the BlueTap payment device at a one-time SGD150. Pre-orders and deposits were not described on the pages we checked.

Eats365

Eats365 is an F&B-only POS with a food retail page that describes fast counter checkout, a customer-facing display, offline selling that syncs later, and a branded online store that can sell “custom cakes” and subscription boxes. Inventory is handled through third-party integrations, according to its back of house page. The pricing page lists POS Basic at SG$39 a month and POS Advanced, which connects multiple outlets, at SG$89 a month on annual billing. Ask which inventory partner Eats365 would pair you with and what it costs.

Dinlr

Dinlr is an iPad POS whose hardware page lists supported barcode scanners and Star Micronics weighing scales, with scale prices published. Its Waiter POS page describes ingredient inventory with low-stock alerts, tracking to very small units, sheet-to-shelf stock takes and multiple outlets on one platform. Dinlr Online Order lets customers schedule a pick-up date and time. The pricing page lists Waiter at S$89 a month per device billed annually (S$99 monthly), extra devices at S$39, and Online Order at S$89 a month per location.

HashMicro

HashMicro is an ERP vendor with an F&B POS. Its F&B software page lists recipe management, recipe-based deduction, an offline-resilient mode and a central multi-branch POS. The central kitchen page is the most detailed production description in this comparison: demand-based production planning, forecast-driven batch planning, recipe yield scaling, allocation of production across outlets, shelf-life risk alerts, waste pattern analytics, kitchen transfer records and batch number records. Pricing is not stated on their website. It suits bakery chains with a central kitchen that also want purchasing and accounting in one ERP.

MEGAPOS

MEGAPOS publishes a bakery POS guide that stresses checkout speed, easy menu updates for new bakes, modifiers for customised cakes, cloud reports including stock levels, and multi-store menu and promotion control. Its café and food kiosk page describes tracking ingredient consumption through recipe and inventory management, and prepaid credits or packages. It has a demo showroom in Singapore. Pricing is not stated on their website.

Best bakery POS by bakery type

  • Single artisan bakery: keep it simple. Fast buttons, PayNow and cards, sold-out control and a basic online pre-order page cover most needs. Qashier, Dinlr and Eats365 publish entry prices. Track your five most expensive ingredients by recipe from day one. Our guide on how to open a bakery in Singapore covers the rest of the setup.
  • Multi-outlet chain: you need one menu and price book, stock by outlet, and head-office reports. EPOS describes a central kitchen system, HashMicro has a full central kitchen module, and ChaChaCha includes ERP for head office. See our inventory software comparison.
  • Cake and custom-order shop: pre-orders with collection times, cake modifiers (size, flavour, message) and deposits matter most. Still planning the shop? See how to open a cake shop in Singapore. Qashier and Dinlr describe scheduled pre-orders, Eats365 describes selling custom cakes online, and MEGAPOS highlights cake modifiers. Test deposits and balance payments in every demo. Dessert shops should also read our dessert shop guide.
  • Bakery café: you run a counter and tables at the same time, with coffee going to a bar printer. Look for table management, kitchen routing and QR ordering alongside the bakery counter. See café POS.

If you also supply offices or events, our catering business guide covers bulk orders and invoicing.

Bakery POS costs and the EDGE Grant

Published prices, from each vendor’s own page:

  • Qashier: $5 a day for the whole platform, excluding GST; terminals from $0.80 a day more.
  • EPOS: EPOS360 Grow from SGD50; BlueTap payment device SGD150 one-time.
  • Eats365: POS Basic SG$39 a month and POS Advanced SG$89 a month on annual billing.
  • Dinlr: Waiter S$89 a month billed annually, plus S$89 a month per location for Online Order.

Budget separately for hardware (terminal, customer display, receipt and label printers, scanner, scale), payment processing fees and setup time. Entering every recipe and ingredient can take several days for a large range. Our POS cost guide and POS cost calculator help you total it up.

Grants. According to Enterprise Singapore, PSG, EDG and MRA cease on 29 September 2026. From 30 September, business grant support is under the EDGE Grant, which states up to 70% support for SMEs and up to 50% for non-SMEs, with support levels differing by activity. Support is paid on a reimbursement basis. Ask each vendor how its package fits under EDGE. AppsPOS has been a PSG pre-approved vendor and is approved under the EDGE Grant. See our grant guide.

How to choose a bakery POS

  1. Time a tray checkout. Ring up seven mixed items and pay by PayNow. Count the taps.
  2. Take a cake pre-order. Include a size, a flavour, a message, a deposit and a collection time three days away. Then collect it and pay the balance.
  3. Set up one real recipe. Sell the item and check the ingredient deduction and the cost per piece.
  4. Close the day. Log unsold items as waste or markdown and check how it shows in the reports.
  5. Scan and weigh. If you sell packaged or weighed items, bring a product and test your scanner and scale models.
  6. Check outlets and transfers. For chains, move stock from the central kitchen to an outlet and check both sides.
  7. Ask about festive capacity. How are pre-orders capped per collection slot?
  8. Get everything in writing from each vendor, including us.
