Key takeaways
- Disclosure: ChaChaCha is a POS vendor, powered by AppsPOS. We compared ourselves alongside five other options and used only information published on each vendor’s own website as of September 2026.
- A salon POS lives or dies on three things a retail till does not do well: the appointment book, prepaid packages and credits, and staff commissions.
- Only two of the six options publish a price. The rest quote after a demo, so compare a full first-year cost, not a headline number.
- PSG, EDG and MRA combine into the EDGE Grant from 30 September 2026. Ask each vendor what grant support applies to the exact package before you budget on it.

How we compared (and who wrote this)
ChaChaCha is a point-of-sale system for Singapore businesses, powered by AppsPOS Pte. Ltd., a Singapore POS company operating since 2013. That makes us a competitor of every other system on this page, so weigh what we say accordingly.
To keep it fair, we followed three rules:
- Vendor websites only. Every feature and price below comes from the vendor’s own site, checked in September 2026. We did not use review sites, reseller listings or other comparison articles.
- “Not stated on their website” means exactly that. It does not mean the vendor lacks the feature, only that we could not confirm it from their published pages. Ask them directly.
- Best for, not best overall. We group options by the kind of salon they suit rather than ranking them, and we do not put ourselves first.
How we picked the list: we started from the vendors that appear on page one of a Google search for “salon POS system Singapore” in September 2026. Two of those results (a Shopify salon page and a POS reseller page) returned “page not found” when we checked, so they are not included. We also skipped a listing that appeared to target a different market. That left MEGAPOS, EQuipPOS Beauty by Edgeworks, WESS, Fresha and LABÉAU, plus ChaChaCha.
What a Singapore salon actually needs from a POS
A hair salon, nail studio or spa sells time, not just products. Before looking at vendors, list the jobs your system has to do every day:
- Appointments. A calendar by stylist, therapist or room, with day and week views, easy rescheduling and a clear picture of who is free at 3pm on a Saturday.
- Prepaid packages and credits. Selling a 10-session facial package or a S$500 stored-value top-up, then deducting each visit accurately. This is where spreadsheets usually break.
- Commissions. Service and product commission per staff member, including split services where two people work on one client. Staff will check the numbers, so the report has to be right.
- Product retail. Shampoos, serums and nail care sold at the counter, with stock counts so you know when to reorder.
- Customer records with consent. Service history, allergies or colour formulas, and a record of whether the client agreed to marketing. The Personal Data Protection Commission publishes guidance on collecting and using personal data, and your POS should make it easy to follow.
- WhatsApp reminders and marketing. Most Singapore clients read WhatsApp before email or SMS. Reminders cut no-shows, and targeted messages bring lapsed clients back.
- Local payments. PayNow, NETS and cards at the counter, with each method recorded separately so end-of-day reconciliation is quick. See our POS payments page for what that looks like.
If you only need two or three of these, a simpler tool may do. If you need all of them across several outlets, you need something built for it. Our beauty services POS page goes deeper on day-to-day workflows.

The options in detail
MEGAPOS Salon & Spa
MEGAPOS is a Singapore POS company with a dedicated salon and spa page. It lists appointment management with reminders, inventory tracking, a CRM covering service packages and loyalty rewards, an online shop and a central online backend. Two points stand out for Singapore: MEGAPOS says its POS works offline during network downtime, and it lists shopping mall integration for sending sales data to a landlord’s tenant system. Its site shows “PSG Grant Available”. Pricing and commission handling are not stated on the salon page.
EQuipPOS Beauty by Edgeworks
Edgeworks Solutions is a Singapore company that says it has served the industry for 19 years. Its EQuipPOS Beauty page lists an appointment module with daily, weekly and monthly views, online booking that can be embedded into a website, Facebook or app, and multi-outlet booking from one place. It also lists service packages, points packages, a stylist module that tracks sales by salesperson (including multiple salespersons on one receipt), membership expiry and renewals, and web-based reports across outlets. Pricing is quoted after contacting sales. The site links to an Enterprise Development Grant page rather than stating PSG support for the beauty product.
WESS
WESS, by Refine Solutions Pte Ltd, is a salon and spa specialist with offices in Singapore and Johor. Its about page says WESS was developed as the sectoral solution for Singapore’s wellness industry. The POS page focuses on salon-specific problems: allocating partial payments to the right items, and controlling prepaid and credit usage so a client cannot consume a package they have only partly paid for. The employee page covers automated commission and scheduling, and WhatsApp Connect sends reminders, confirmations, cancellations and receipts from your own business number. A consumer web app lets clients book, choose a therapist and pay by card or PayNow. Pricing is not stated on the pages we read.
Fresha
Fresha is a global booking platform with a marketplace for clients looking to book. Its pricing page, shown in SGD when we checked, lists SGD 28.95 per month for a one-person business and SGD 18.95 per bookable team member per month for teams, with enterprise pricing above 20 team members. Features listed include calendar and scheduling, point of sale, retail and inventory, packages, memberships and sales commissions. Automated text and WhatsApp notifications have a small monthly allowance, then a per-message charge. Card processing is listed from 3.29% + SGD 0.50 per transaction, and a one-time fee applies to brand-new clients who find you through the Fresha marketplace. Grant support is not stated.
LABÉAU
LABÉAU is run by a Kuala Lumpur-based company (Ten Binary Sdn. Bhd.) and has a Singapore salon POS page. It lists SGD checkout with PayNow and cards, therapist and room allocation, package and membership redemption, tiered commissions, WhatsApp reminders and multi-outlet reporting. It publishes pricing from RM174.92 per month with a 30-day free trial and no setup fee. Local support arrangements in Singapore and grant eligibility for LABÉAU itself are not stated on that page. If you are a group expanding into Malaysia, one platform across both markets may appeal.
ChaChaCha (powered by AppsPOS)
ChaChaCha is our own product. For salons and spas it provides an appointments calendar, prepaid packages, stored value and e-wallet balances, staff commissions, product retail with inventory, and WhatsApp marketing. Payments include PayNow, PayLah!, NETS, Visa and Mastercard, and the POS keeps working if the internet drops, then syncs later. Hardware is supplied as part of the package, and pricing is quote-based. If customers booking online by themselves is essential for you, ask us to show exactly how bookings work in a demo, and compare that honestly. More on our salon and spa POS page.
Best by salon type
These are starting points, not verdicts. Book a demo with two or three vendors and run a real day through each.
- Hair salon (1 outlet, 3 to 8 stylists): commissions and product retail matter most. Shortlist WESS for its commission and partial-payment handling, Fresha if you want published pricing and online booking, and ChaChaCha if stored value and WhatsApp marketing to regulars are your main retention tools.
- Nail or beauty studio (small team, high repeat visits): Fresha’s per-team-member pricing is easy to budget for a small team, though count the marketplace and messaging fees. LABÉAU publishes pricing and lists WhatsApp reminders. ChaChaCha suits studios that sell packages and top-ups at the counter.
- Spa (rooms, therapists, long packages): prepaid control and room allocation matter most. WESS and LABÉAU both address these directly on their sites. EQuipPOS Beauty lists service and points packages with multi-outlet booking.
- Multi-outlet group: look for central reporting, shared customer records and package redemption at any outlet. MEGAPOS (with mall integration and offline operation), EQuipPOS Beauty and ChaChaCha (with head office ERP and Xero) are worth comparing. Ask each how a package bought at one outlet is redeemed at another.
Prepaid packages: clear terms for customers
Packages and stored value are good for cash flow and loyalty, but they are also the most common source of disputes between salons and clients. Whatever system you choose, good practice looks like this:
- Write the terms down before payment. Number of sessions, what is included, expiry date, whether the package can be shared or transferred, and what happens if the client moves away or the outlet closes.
- Show the balance every visit. Print or send the remaining sessions or credit on the receipt. A POS that tracks packages per client makes this automatic.
- Record partial payments properly. If a client pays in instalments, make sure the system only releases sessions against what has been paid. WESS highlights this on its POS page, and it is worth testing with every vendor.
- Keep a clean audit trail. Who sold it, who redeemed each session, and who approved any adjustment. This protects staff as well as the business.
- Avoid pressure selling. Give clients time to decide. Happy package holders come back; pressured ones complain.
This is general good practice, not legal advice. If you are unsure about your obligations, check with a professional adviser.
Grants: what changes with the EDGE Grant
From 30 September 2026, the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG), Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) and Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) combine into the EDGE Grant. Enterprise Singapore states support of up to 70% for SMEs, with support levels differing by activity. That means a vendor’s old “PSG pre-approved” badge tells you less than it used to.
What to do: ask each vendor which EDGE activity their package falls under, what is covered (software, hardware, setup), and whether you must apply before signing. AppsPOS has been a PSG pre-approved vendor and is approved under the EDGE Grant. We do not quote a percentage for our packages because support depends on the activity and your eligibility. Our grant guide explains the process.
How to choose a salon POS
- Map your revenue. What share comes from services, packages, stored value and products? The bigger the prepaid share, the more you need strong package controls.
- Write down your commission rules and ask each vendor to set them up during the demo, including a split service.
- Test a busy Saturday. Book, reschedule, redeem a package, sell a product, split a payment between PayNow and card, and close the day.
- Check messaging. Are WhatsApp reminders included or charged per message? Do they come from your own number?
- Ask about data export. Client records and package balances are your business. Make sure you can get them out.
- Total the first year. Subscription, hardware, setup, card processing and messaging. Our POS cost guide and cost calculator help.
Where ChaChaCha fits
ChaChaCha suits salons and spas that sell a lot of packages and stored value and want to keep clients coming back through the counter and WhatsApp. You get an appointments calendar, packages, stored value and e-wallet balances, staff commissions, product retail with stock tracking, and WhatsApp marketing, together with birthday rewards, vouchers and points through our CRM and loyalty tools.
It runs on a hybrid POS that keeps working if the internet drops, takes PayNow, PayLah!, NETS and cards, and connects to Xero for accounting. Multi-outlet groups get head office reporting and ERP. The interface is available in English and Chinese.
What we do not do: we do not provide a client-facing online booking engine or marketplace listing. If most of your new clients book themselves online, a booking-led platform may suit you better, and we would rather you know that now. If you want to see the rest in action, book a demo.
