Disclosure: ChaChaCha publishes this page and is a POS vendor, powered by AppsPOS, so we compete with Loyverse. Loyverse facts come only from Loyverse’s own website as of September 2026. ChaChaCha facts come from our published feature list.
- Loyverse is a free, self-serve POS app used in more than 170 countries. You download it, set it up yourself and run it on your own phone or tablet, with paid add-ons priced in US dollars.
- Payments are the key difference in Singapore. Loyverse lists integrated card payments in 30+ countries, and Singapore is not on its list, so card payments here are keyed into a separate terminal.
- ChaChaCha is a supported Singapore package: PayNow, PayLah!, NETS, cards and GrabPay integrated, NETS certification, KDS with prep timers, hardware supplied and EDGE Grant approval.
- This page compares features, not prices.

Loyverse and ChaChaCha sit at opposite ends of the POS market. Loyverse is a free, global app that you install and configure yourself, with help through live chat and online guides. ChaChaCha is a Singapore package powered by AppsPOS, supplied with hardware and set up for local payment methods. Many small Singapore businesses start on Loyverse and later look for more, so this page is about knowing when a free app is enough and when a supported local system is worth paying for. It compares the two feature by feature and says plainly where Loyverse is the better fit. For background, see our Loyverse in Singapore guide, our guide to free POS systems and our best F&B POS system guide.
How we compared (and why not on price)
We used Loyverse’s own pages only, linked throughout, and no review-site ratings or quotes. “Not stated on their website” means we could not find it on the pages we reviewed. We compare features, not prices. Loyverse’s core app is free and its pricing page lists optional add-ons in US dollars, excluding taxes. ChaChaCha is quote-based and includes hardware in the package, so the two are not priced on the same basis. If cost is the deciding factor, add up what each option really needs for your outlet: devices, printers, a card terminal and staff time. Our POS system cost guide explains how.

Payments: the key difference in Singapore
Loyverse’s payments page says it supports integrated payments in over 30 countries, and its country filter lists markets such as Australia, Japan, the UK and the US but not Singapore. Its FAQ explains that without an integrated provider you can still take cards, but staff must key the total into the card reader by hand, and the two systems do not sync. PayNow, NETS and PayLah! are not mentioned on its pages. In practice, a Singapore outlet on Loyverse records the payment type in the app and runs a separate terminal or QR code alongside it. We compare that with HitPay in our HitPay and Loyverse guide. Our guide to Qashier vs Loyverse in Singapore compares it with an all-in-one that includes local payments.
For a small shop with low volume, that can be perfectly workable. For a busy counter, manual keying adds time at each sale and makes end-of-day reconciliation harder. ChaChaCha accepts PayNow, PayLah!, NETS, Visa, Mastercard and GrabPay through DBS, UOB and 2C2P, supports split payments and reconciles automatically. AppsPOS is a NETS Certified Vendor. See our POS payments page and our guide to accepting PayNow.
Kitchen and ordering
Loyverse’s free KDS is a real asset for a small kitchen: it shows items, modifiers and notes, colour-codes tickets by age, supports separate stations for bar, hot kitchen or desserts, and keeps working over the local network if the internet drops. ChaChaCha’s KDS adds order prioritisation and prep timers, and Epson cloud printing sends tickets to several printers at once, in English or Chinese. ChaChaCha also includes QR ordering, a mobile app, an online ordering page and a self-order kiosk with a built-in card terminal. Loyverse points to its app marketplace for online ordering and other connections; check what is available in Singapore.
Support, set-up and hardware
Loyverse is designed to be set up by the owner: create an account, install the app on a phone or tablet you already own, and add printers, scanners or cash drawers from its compatible hardware list. Help is through 24/7 live chat and a large online help centre. That suits confident owners who like to configure things themselves. ChaChaCha’s hardware is supplied by AppsPOS as part of the package, from a Singapore company operating since 2013. For ChaChaCha support hours, on-site help and service levels, ask us to put them in your quote.
Grants
Grants changed on 30 September 2026. Enterprise Singapore’s EDGE Grant page says PSG, EDG and MRA cease on 29 September 2026 and new applications go under the EDGE Grant, with support of up to 70% for SMEs and levels that differ by activity. AppsPOS has been a PSG pre-approved vendor and is approved under the EDGE Grant. Our POS grant guide and EDGE Grant guide explain how to apply. Check eligibility before you sign or pay, because grants cannot usually be claimed after purchase.
Loyverse’s pages do not mention Singapore grants. Because the core app is free, grants matter less for Loyverse itself, but they can matter for the hardware and payment set-up around it, so check what would qualify before you buy.
