Disclosure: ChaChaCha is a POS vendor, powered by AppsPOS, so we compete with some of the vendors below. We only used information published on each vendor's own website as of September 2026.
- A good scheduling app for F&B should handle shift templates, staff availability and swaps, clock-in at the outlet, overtime flags and a clean export to payroll.
- StaffAny is built for shift work in Singapore F&B. Deputy, Connecteam and Jibble are global apps with free or starter tiers. Talenox covers the HR and payroll side and connects to scheduling tools.
- No app makes you compliant with the Employment Act by itself. You still need to set the rules for breaks, overtime, rest days and part-timers correctly.
- Options are grouped by what they suit best, not ranked, and not compared on price.

Rostering is one of the most time-consuming jobs in a restaurant. Shifts change daily, part-timers swap at short notice and overtime creeps up unnoticed. This guide looks at the best scheduling apps for F&B shift work in Singapore, based on what each vendor publishes on its own site, and what to check against MOM’s rules before you roll one out. It covers rostering and time attendance. Payroll software is compared in our best payroll software guide, and roster templates are in our F&B staff roster guide.
How we compared
- Vendor websites only, linked where used, plus MOM for the employment rules.
- “Not stated on their website” means we could not find it, not that it is missing.
- No price comparison and no ranking. Several vendors publish prices; check them on their sites.
What an F&B scheduling app needs to do
- Shift templates. Copy a good week forward rather than building from scratch.
- Availability and swaps. Staff mark when they can work and swap shifts with manager approval.
- Clock-in at the outlet. Geofence, QR code, shared kiosk or photo check, so hours are recorded where the work happens.
- Overtime and break flags before the roster is published, not after payday.
- Part-timer handling, including hourly rates and pro-rated entitlements.
- Payroll export of approved timesheets, in a format your payroll software accepts.
- Multi-outlet view, so you can move staff between outlets when someone calls in sick.
The Employment Act rules your roster must respect
MOM’s hours of work page sets out rules for employees covered under Part 4 of the Employment Act. Managers and executives are not covered by Part 4. Key points for rostering:
- Employees generally should not work more than 6 consecutive hours without a break. Where work must be continuous for up to 8 hours, meal breaks must be at least 45 minutes long.
- Normal contractual hours are up to 44 a week, and shift workers can work up to 12 hours a day if the average stays at 44 over a continuous 3-week period.
- Overtime is paid at least 1.5 times the hourly basic rate, within 14 days after the salary period ends.
- Employees may not work more than 12 hours a day except in specified circumstances, and overtime is capped at 72 hours a month.
- Employers must give 1 rest day a week.
For part-timers, MOM’s part-time employment page explains that entitlements such as rest days, public holidays, overtime and leave are usually calculated based on how much the employee works. Our Employment Act working hours guide explains the rules in more detail. Set these rules up in whichever app you choose, then check the first few timesheets by hand.
Scheduling apps for F&B in Singapore
StaffAny
StaffAny’s homepage presents it as workforce management software for F&B shift work. It lists drag-and-drop rostering, schedule templates, staff availability and shift swaps, auto-scheduling, and clock-in by geofence, QR code or Wi-Fi. Overtime and anomalies are flagged automatically for review, timesheets are consolidated for payroll, and leave uses a two-tier approval. Its pricing page lists plans in SGD, with multi-outlet scheduling and GPS plus photo timeclock on higher plans and payroll integrations included. The copyright line names STAFFANY PTE LTD.
Deputy
Deputy’s scheduling page describes AI-assisted scheduling, templates built from past schedules, labour cost shown against sales, auto-scheduling, break planning, shift swapping and time tracking. It integrates with Xero among other systems, and its starter plan covers up to 100 shifts and 100 timesheets a month. Deputy’s site lists Australian, UK and US/global versions. We did not find a Singapore page, so confirm how it handles MOM overtime rules.
Connecteam
Connecteam’s scheduling app page lists daily, weekly and monthly templates, open shifts for qualified staff to claim, conflict alerts before publishing, overtime alerts, clock-in and planned-versus-actual hours. Its pricing page offers a free Small Business Plan for businesses with fewer than 10 employees.
Jibble
Jibble’s homepage focuses on time and attendance. It lists a shared kiosk clock-in, face recognition, geofences, offline clock-in that syncs once back online, overtime calculation and payroll exports. It says its core plan is free for unlimited users. Scheduling features are lighter than rostering-first apps, so it suits outlets that mainly need accurate clock-ins.
Talenox
Talenox’s homepage describes an HR and payroll system localised for Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong, with leave management. It says it integrates with scheduling tools such as Deputy and King of Time. It fits alongside a scheduling app rather than replacing one.

Best for: choosing a scheduling app
- Best for Singapore F&B groups with several outlets: StaffAny, which is built around shift work and multi-outlet rosters.
- Best for owners who want labour cost shown against sales: Deputy, after confirming its Singapore overtime set-up.
- Best for a single small outlet starting out: Connecteam’s free Small Business Plan, if you have fewer than 10 employees.
- Best for fixing clock-in problems first: Jibble, with kiosk and face recognition clock-in.
- Best for tidy HR and payroll records: Talenox, paired with a scheduling app.
Rolling out a new scheduling app
Most scheduling apps fail because staff never adopt them, not because of missing features. A short rollout plan helps:
- Start with one outlet and one manager who will own the roster.
- Load your rules first: break lengths, overtime thresholds, rest days and public holidays. Then build the first roster from a template.
- Get every staff member on the app before the first published roster, including part-timers who only work weekends.
- Run the old and new timesheets side by side for one pay period and compare the totals.
- Check the payroll export with whoever runs payroll, before you switch off the old process.
Once the first outlet runs smoothly for a month, roll out to the others and review labour cost against sales every week.
Where your POS fits in
Your POS and your scheduling app work best together. The POS holds sales by hour, which tells you when you need more hands, and staff logins, which control who can void, discount or open the cash drawer. ChaChaCha includes staff permissions and reports, so you can see sales by period and limit sensitive actions by role. Our POS staff permissions guide explains how to set them up. If you want roster or clock-in data to flow between ChaChaCha and a scheduling app, ask us to confirm what is possible for your set-up.
To judge whether a new roster is working, track labour as a share of sales each week. Our restaurant labour cost guide shows how to calculate it.
